Prof. Cunjiang Yu is the Bill D. Cook Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Houston, with joint appointments in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering. He got B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. Electrical Engineering in 2004 and 2007, respectively, from Southeast University, Nanjing, China. He then received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Arizona State University in 2010. He was trained as a postdoc research fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before joining University of Houston 2013. Dr. Yu’s research mainly covers materials and manufacturing of soft, flexible, stretchable electronics, solid state electronics, sensors, biomedical electronics and devices. His research was recognized by some recent awards, including NSF CAREER Award, ONR Young Investigator Award, MIT Technology Review 35 Top Innovators under the age of 35 – TR35 China, SME Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award, AVS Young Investigator Award, ACS Petroleum Research Fund Doctoral New Investigator Award, 3M Non-Tenured Faculty Award, a few research and teaching awards at university, college and department levels at University of Houston, etc.
